Saturday

So it's Saturday morning. Things are going pretty good. He slept as well as he did before the surgery last night, so that's a great sign.

It seems like he is burping easier, I might be making that up. Did we ever tell everyone about the cool burping trick of rubbing his head? The nurses showed us at the NICU, if a baby wont burp you pat his back like normal and then just rub his head, and... that'll usually get the burp out. I know, it sounds crazy and overly simple. We were saying "yeah right" to the nurse who was telling us about it as we tried it for the first time. Kristen couldn't even finish saying "Why would that work?" and he had already let out a big ol' burp, it was quite funny.

So, secrets from the NICU, wrap your baby in a blanket while giving him a bath and he'll love it, and rub his head to get him to burp

What secrets does anyone else have to share? Come on, give us a heads up. Currently I think we are going to have to work on Greydon figuring out that he is capable of sleeping somewhere besides in one of our arms....of course I'm not sure we're willing to put him down yet.

The vaccuum has become our friend since it makes Averie stop crying. I'm totally going to try the rubbing thing. Does it matter which part of their head you rub?

Here's a secret spoken like the true vodoo witch I am..... peppermint stops tummy aches. You can let him lick a candy cane in a piinch, but a TINY drop of peppermint oil on a finger is enough to help soothe his tummy and help digestion.

Scott use to rub his finger gently from between their eyes down to the tip of their nose and it put many of our babies to sleep. It was cute.
