Today we went to see Greydon, amidst our normal Sunday activities. Kristen and I rode with Vicki.... she provided complimentary air sick bags and neck braces...
Apparently Suburbans are much too tall for my pants to handle. As I was throwing my leg 5 feet in the air to scuttle into the jet plane of death that Vicki drives, my pants couldn't handle the extra strain, already stretched to the limit compressing my voluminous rear quarters behind a weak wall of wool and a feeble course of thread. It's been a while since I've had to go back into the house to "change my pants". My self esteem was just giddy.
I tried Greydon's rock-star hat on him, even though I knew it was still way too big... so cute.
He did great again today, you'll notice they switched the OG (oral gastric) tube to a NG (nasal gastric) tube. It is still his feeding tube, but now it doesn't have to be changed as often.
This morning we found out the neatest thing.
We were getting ready to leave to go to church and one of the nurses who was caring for the new twins approached us and said that they gave two of the blankets that our friends donated to the new twins. We were a little confused, and figured the nurse was either speaking to someone behind us or had us confused with somebody else... She wasn't mistaken.
There was a note at the NICU's front reception desk that thanked the wonderful staff for all that they do taking care of Greydon. The note accompanied I think around 10 blankets that a group of sisters from our ward donated in Greydon's name.
We were so touched we just stood there awestruck and slack-jawed. It was just the perfect combination of thoughtfulness and philanthropy. We are forever indebted to the NICU staff. One thing they try to do for the babies is to make the little beds up as cute as possible. Blankets don't last forever going through the hospital laundering service so they were very appreciative of the gift, we were very thankful that it was in Greydon's name.
Thank you Thank you Thank you.
We've been having a heck of a time keeping track of the little blue bear that Lori and Jay got for Greydon... he likes to get around. When we get a hold of him we'll ask him where he's been, he keeps coming back.

That is one handsome boy....It SOOOOO awesome to see his face and mouth and nose and ...........
Cried like a baby when I heard about the srs. donating blankets; that is the most heart swelling thing I've heard in a while! The five or six srs. in our little branch made what they call receiving blanket babies and donated them to our little hosp. here in Cheboygan; surely hope they were as appreciated as those done for Greydon!!
Now beginning to see the resemblence between Greydon and his Mom & Dad; still say he got the best of all of us.
Love the pants story, but don't want to ride with lead foot Co. grannie thanks!! Love, Muzz
Me again; in the past I've been able to click on pics of Greydon and print copies of a reasonable size to put in the baby book you sent me, but the last few and especially the one with no tubes and titled smile comes out huge; can you enter them so they copy smaller pics or how can I decrease the size to have a decent copy?
remember, i'm puter illiterate!! Muzz
I've started using a different camera sometimes, I'm not sure I'm smart enough to post a smaller picture using that one or not.
You should be able to always shrink a photo without losing quality, while the opposite is not true.
I don't know what is on your computer to help you figure out how to shrink it down.
You could probably go to your word program, import the photo, and then scale it to the desired size... we'll chat on the phone
I have to take exception here. I am not really a speed demon, just an anxious grandma wanting to see her percious little grandson. (and there was very little traffic). I get to see him so infrequently, that I don't want to waste any time. He was sooo cute this weekend I know it's because we were there. Give him kisses.
I had to make a comment on the 1st photo on today's blog. It should read,"Tell me again why I have this contraption shoved up my nose?" " And I should be happy.....Why?"
