Some of my kids just before dancing "Cotton Eye Joe"

They have you bring in and label a set of drawers to hold your linens.... this is my label

Notice the cool linens...

Kristen got to hold him for two hours!

Today was better than yesterday... He is weighing in at the upper levels of two lbs, so we are hoping for the 3 barrier. They are starting to wean him off of his fat injections (lipids) since he is handling the eating so far and is getting what he needs from that. Eating well also means that they are cutting back on his electrolytes... when he is no longer getting lipids or electrolytes he can get the pic line out and have one less thing jabbing him.
He is still all over the place on his breathing. The caffeine is helping, but he still has some a and b episodes every now and then... He keeps those nurses jumping having to constantly adjust his c-pap pressure up, down and back again.. normally they leave it at the same number for most of a day, his is changed about every ten minutes... he is already learning how to get people to flock to his every bidding... we're in trouble.
The c-pap means that he has his mouth open breathing frequently, so his lips are all chapped and bleeding. They are putting vaseline on them to help, but it still gets crusty and goopy and all red, so sad.
Eagle-eye Vicki noticed there was something different hanging behind his bed. We didn't make it, or have it made. The parent's support group puts one up behind all of the babies' cribs and changes them out every now and then so you don't get too annoyed seeing the same thing, which is pretty impressive considering how many babies there are. They have also left a little fleece blanket, a "survival kit" and a little preemie outfit as gifts. They are the same organization that brings in pizza on Tuesday nights and offers a low impact scrap booking hour to help parents be brain dead for a few minutes every now and then. They do a great job.
