You know those names.....?

Obviously we have been discussing names a lot lately. We have been married over a decade now so the names we liked when we first got married are pretty out of date and no longer cool to us.

You know those names that sound great, you love them, but you would never name your own kid that....I tend to like them quite a bit. I just need to make sure I don't scar the poor child.

As you vote on which color of balloons you think we might someday be buying, reply to this post and list two to three names, especially those names you like, but only for somebody else. I am getting a few hits from places I don't recognize, feel free to list names even if you happen across the blog by accident and I have no idea who you are.

It'll be fun to see what everyone thinks are cool names.

Have you noticed that people are really secretive about names they like? As a sign of good faith I'll list a few we've been talking about.

For a boy naming him Calvin III is a possibility, we also like the name Graydon, or Greydon, or Greyson, the spelling is still to be determined. For a girl we both like Lillian, there are family connections, we like Grace for the middle name. It bothers me that both of those currently rank high on the popularity list, we had them in our head before looking at the lists. I don't want to be a trend follower or have him/her/it be one of 20 other kids with the same name in their school.

I love Lillian Grace. That is a pretty girls name. For the boys name I love Grayson. We have a little neighbor boy named Grayson and he is as cute as they come.
I am excited to find out what it is.

As long as you don't name him Farnum Barum or Beulah, I will be happy. Ma

I am sure K reading Freakonomics doesn't help in the decision making! no one has used Crystal or Crystalfer and you are welcome to. I think K liked Melanie or Melody in middle school, we used to write name lists in choir. I like Reece, boy or girl. Landon is cute too! I will think on it.

There were 3 Tiffany's in my school and I turned out just fine...wink, wink. I HATE choosing names when it comes to babies! I always have my favorites but by the time they have arrived I am already sick of saying them. For instance when I was prego with McKenna before I knew she was a girl I LOVED the name Parker. Just the thought of naming a son Parker (if that ever happens) makes me literally feel nauseous. I am not sure if thats remembering the pregnancy or what but either way I will NEVER do it! I do have some suggestions though.
1. Think of what it may be shortened to when he/she gets older.
2. Have 2 or 3 that you like and when he/she gets here you can decide what it most looks like
Okay one more quick story, (Is there a limit to words left in a comment?) When we first named our 3rd baby she was originally Ashlynn that whole first night we called her that but it never felt right so we decided to switch it to Raigynn and it definitely flowed better!
3. Okay way too long of a comment Sorry....Good luck with the name hunt!

Heres the deal with names... Your child will get it shortened. Victoria will be called Vicki. Lillian will be called Lily. Please don't call your kid Calvin III. It's just too much. After II then people need to be individualized. It's too much! Yeah that was blunt. Sorry it had to be said. Don't go on other people's opinions. I remember when we named Oaklee, I got all sorts of comments. Well her name fits her perfect, so there. Get ready because people tend to put the e sound on the end, why I can't figure out. I have two nephews, one named Owen and the other Morgan, and for some stupid reason relatives refer to them as Owee and Morgee- Are you serious! Could you be any gayer!! (it's a word for now). Do what makes you happy!!!

Lillian Grace is the bomb.

And DEFINITELY Calvin III for a boy!

I like Angelina :)

I will call Cal III "Wes", just so you know. As long as I get to be babysitter of the year I don't care what it's called. I'll find a nick name for her anyway :)
Auntie AJ

What i was hoping for are those cool names, like River, Canyon, Lryic, Roxie Crime Fighter, those names that only sound cool on someone else, anyone have more of those that aren't based on hollywood?

Landon and I have a friend who named their son Zealand(they just call him "Z" for short.) Ya, you guessed it, his Dad served in New Zealand on his mission. I had a really cute kid in my primary class names Axel. He was a doll, so I liked his name. Funny how that works, huh? I really like Holland or Preslie for a girl or Boston for a boy. I love Madison for a girl too, but hate Maddie as a nickname.

There is a baby in GJ named Agony Ann Payne. you could do Bailey Ann Barnum. Something to think about! I do like Ireland though.

Unfortunatly, I really like Bailey. I'm just not sure with Barnum, but it could work. It seems the trend is to pick a city... any city and name the child that. Not so sure about that. I do agree though that you need to have a coule of options because one may not fit. ( Ido like Grayson).Ma

I have some friends that name their kids something that is important to them when the child is born.
Child #1 was born in Alaska, his name is Kodiak (Kody for short.)
Child #2 born in California, middle name Marin (after the county.)
Child #3 middle name Maize after U of Michigan colors Maize and Blue. Go Blue!
I personally love Lillian. Ellie almost got that name. We also liked Kailani, but Ellie definitely fits a blonde better than Kailani. It's a Hawaiian name meaning Sea and Sky.

My advice is to look up the meaning of the names you like. All our kids names have special meanings. And try to think of what your kid is going to get nicknamed in school. Unfortunately E will probably be smelly-Ellie or something. Oh, well.
Can't wait to find out what you are having!

I loooooove Lillian Grace! And even the nickname Lilly is cute!
My favorite name for a girl is Madelyn. (I suggested that to my boss who is going to have a little girl and he loved it so much. They decided that they're going to name her Madelyn Rose Day.)
For a boy I like Rhees or Lance. They're not too common, but still masculine.

I think Aleah is the best name ever =) I won't even mind if you use it! Too funny I just added you to my blogroll and clicked on the link to test and popped over here to see us on your blogroll! It's like this techno wizardry fully looped clicking circular thing...
P.S. I've had no sleep in 3 nights, posts might be a bit weird for the next day or two (thinking back about my one eyed porcupine reference)
P.P.S. You probably should post a longer comment on the clan page or my new moderator (kinzie) may pick on u O.o

P.S. Do you (blog owner person) ever read and reply to any of these comments? -_-

I check and read all of my comments, it's what makes blogging fun.. I frequently scroll through old posts to see what has been commented on since the first time I checked. I don't know how to reply though...

ah ha, you did reply, wooo

Of course now I see the cb2 back there in the scroll where u replied b4.

Hey what do you think of Hunter for a boys name, we were considering it if Aleah had been shipped with the other set of gear.
