NO, not Greydon's, though we think he is ready for a mini preschool experience later this school year.
Teachers at my school started last Monday and students came full time starting today. My first group of students were 7th graders for my homeroom. It was cute they were all scared and quiet to be in junior high. We talked about how everyone is scared but some just hide it better than others. I had everyone stand up and say something about themselves as we started to create our "safe environment". Everyone needs someplace that they know is safe, where they can screw up without being mocked, trip and get up and laugh with friends instead of enduring pointing fingers. I loved that one of the students actually said "My name is so and so and I am really scared." I had everyone applaud her for her honesty, it was great. We all, her included, had a good chuckle.

I never had a teacher ever who did that. Your students have got to love you! Have a great year.
totally awesome! lucky kids! Muzz and Fuzz
I love that you do this. Those kids have it made with you on their side.
I think I say this every day at work. I'm AJ. I'm scared.
Where's your first day of school photo Calvin?
Calvin, there is only one reason that I'd ever want to go back to 7th grade, and that is so that I could be in on eof your classes! I think you'd have been the most awesome teacher I had!! I think these kids are extremely lucky to have you. Good luck with another school year, can't wait to hear more of your stories. Do you carry a spare pair of pants now, b.t.w.? :)
Heidi.
You are such a great teacher. They are lucky to have you...
