humming in the car

So, I'm studying... needed a break for a second.. Starting Sunday I haven't had any pop, soda, coke, cola, whatever you call it. I was already pretty much off caffeine and any dark cola, I figure I might as well go the rest of the way.... since the pounds are just falling right off as it is (strong sarcasm).

I do this thing, where like many people I'm always kind of singing something in my head, sometimes it's a song that I just can't get out of my head no matter how hard I try, many times it's something we're using at school that I've now heard a million times. A lot of the times I'll start making something up and sing that for a few days trying to figure out word choices and thoughts I like together.. sometimes I write them down, often not, usually when I go back and look at them later I realize it was more fun to make it up then to really read it later..

A couple of days ago I started humming a line and ended up with this... I figured hey, sure, why not. I'm pretty sure I stole the tune I'm humming it to, I intentionally ignore some pesky grammar rules and I'm sure anyone teaching song writing 101 would not be so impressed, but it makes me smile for a day or two...

so, here ya go....welcome to my twisted little head

To know a man walk a mile in his shoes
But you’re assuming I wanna know you,
Woah oh, I wouldn’t be so sure.
Oh, I wouldn’t be so sure

There’s garbage stuck to the edge of your soul
Awful neglect has taken it’s toll
Woah-oh, what d’ya do to those shoes
Your feet stink, and your shoes are ugly

To know a man roll around in his skin
But I kinda like the skin that I’m in
Woah-oh, that’s the way I am
Oh, that’s just the way I am

Ya got ugly tattoos and tracks on your arms
Have you ever helped your skin or only harmed
Woah-oh, where are you goin?
Consider, taking a shower

A man swore on my facebook today
The handicapped girl was the only to say…
Hey…that’s not ok

This connected world we’re living in
Only makes me feel engulfed by sin
I’ve got… enough of my own

But have a seat, let’s chat a while
I’ve at least got a shoulder and a little smile
I hope… you’re doin ok

Paths and pledges and things we choose
Matter more than if you win or lose
Woah-oh, or so I’m told
Oh, I sure hope so

So, I’ll polish your shoes while you take a shower
If you’re not in the mood I’ll see ya tomorrow
Woah-oh, I’ll be right here
Oh, I’m right here.

Wow Cal, that was funny. We need the tune to sing it though.

I think you need guitar lessons...I was really envisioning a cool folky tune much like something off the Juno soundtrack when I read this. I love it!

PS-
Did the man on Facebook swear because of my political comments on Facebook? If so, I am sorry. Also- am I the handicapped girl?

LOL, no the handicap girl really is a mentally challenged girl from back in high school, I'm not posting this little lyric on Facebook in case she is offended by the term handicap, the guy who swore used the F word for shock value in a random statement that made no sense and was just an excuse to use it, there was no anger... I am most certainly humming this song to a folky juno-like guitar sound...
