Mini-Update

mini-update

When Greydon got back from his weekend away he came back more grown up, I hated it. I can't say he looked tons bigger, but he sat differently, a little wobbly but more on his own, more big boy-ish. He also is more coordinated with his hands. He reached out for my face first thing, it melted my heart. Then he grabbed my hair... he's becoming more and more fascinated with it... maybe because his is still pretty sparse. I don't have a sensitive scalp, he can tug all he wants, it's pretty funny.

We had another nurse's visit and then a doctor's appointment. The big nasty rounds of RSV-be-gone are over, but Greydon sure still didn't like getting the other immunizations, apparently sticking him with needles makes him a little sad, shocker. I hate seeing him cry.

He isn't supporting any weight on his legs yet, and while every baby develops at their own speed, this fact is making the home nurse a little nervous, and even our calm doctor said it couldn't hurt to get an evaluation done. We're not panicking. He still kicks like crazy, but if there are exercises to help his legs get stronger, I'm willing to do whatever he needs of course. He has rolled over a few time now.

He is still healthy, but not exactly packing on the pounds. The nurse said that some people melt butter into the cereal to pack on the calories, this sounds absurd and not on our list of things to do right away. His curves are still shaped right, just on the light side.

He still had put on some weight between visits, but didn't add much height.

Before leaving for the weekend there was a minute when Greydon was crying and stopped when Kristen passed him off and I held him... Kristen didn't like that so much, I couldn't blame her... but I admit to secretly liking being able to have a little magic for a moment. I got paid back though. After being gone Greydon didn't want to fall asleep in my arms that night and cried until I passed him over to his mom... I'm totally going to start letting him suck on sugared anything anytime I hold him, I'm not above bribery... that was a crappy feeling. I hope neither one of us have to feel like that very often...

Other than that things are as hectic and ridiculous as usual. This is the last week of class at UVU, then next week is all finals, then the next week is our big dance concert at LHS... then... I think we may be able to exhale. Things are crazy at Kristen's work too.... I think we saw each other yesterday for a couple of minutes at most...maybe...
