They never like the cool exspensive toy, I was expecting that. But Greydon loves more than anything the living room light. Now I don't mean "light" as in a warm that happens when you flick a switch, I mean the actual light fixture, it really doesn't matter if it is on or not... he'll just stare and stare.
We got him a cool swing, there are toys attached to the tray, a great little mobile overhead, we sometime put more toys in his lap or on the tray. Nope, his favorite is the small print warning label on the inside of one of the mechanisms, he'll just lay to the side so he can see it and smile and smile at that label....
I also find it interesting that no matter how I hold him he'll instantly find a nice fistful of chest hair, it's not like I'm holding him without a shirt on. It's starting to hurt less, or the nerves are being deadened.
The coolest thing though was the angel on the Christmas tree. He would look right past all of the cool shapes, shiney ornaments and lights and just stare and talk to that angel. We figure it is someone he must remember. If he was fussy I would just back up to the tree and he'd instantly get happy looking at that angel.
Since the tree is gone now I've been known to stand in the middle of the living room and let him talk to his "friend the light"
whatever works right?

It usually is the simple things you don't think about that seem to entertain them the most. They become more interested in the other stuff later.
HEY... Hayden said for a screen and coat it'd be $1 square foot and he'd fix your headers for free. How's daycare going?
So far so good, a little scary
