It's a boy

We have had the rare opportunity to cuddle with our baby during the third trimester.

We are very grateful for the miracles of medicine, medical staff, and prayer, personal and from others.

Friday was the day we were told to expect him and is now the day we will use to gauge his development, even though we have been cuddling for 2 and a half months.

Mom and Greydon on the supposed delivery day.

Family portrait at 40 weeks

I promised some pics from the day he was supposed to have surgery, and I'll try to catch up from there.

He had to get re-intubated before going down to surgery...

...and a couple of IV's, they gave him his blood transfusion through one, and always have the second one already in, in case the first one goes bad mid-surgery, the dark red tube is him getting his transfusion

alway lots of machines, but for surgery a few new and extra

He weighed in at 6lbs 14 oz this day (he is now 6lbs 15.7 oz.. almost 7!)
In this pic he looks like a 20lb toddler

loading up the oxygen tanks they use to "bag" him while traveling to the O.R.

ready to go, walking down the hall, into the other tower, and into the elevator

and he we are on the first floor heading out of the surgical suite after having a long conversation with the anesthesiologist, the surgical nurses and the surgeon and heading back towards the elevators

after we got back from not having the surgery they had to pull blood from his scalp for blood cultures, they also pulled stool samples

the next day, Friday, his due date, he looked a lot better. He was pooped and barely woke up, but was clearly not as miserable as the day before

Today (the 11th, day after due date) he just wasn't no longer miserable, he seemed his normal happy self again, it was great to see.

Grandma B got to hold him....

My mom's brother Mark and his wife Lynn live north of Salt Lake. They have been down a few times, came again today and got to hold him for a couple of minutes while he was waking up.

Having the extra people hold him tired him out pretty good and he fell asleep during his bath, and again quickly after he got done getting dressed... I promise Mark and Lynn and Mom being there tonight had nothing to do with the choice of onesie we put on him after the bath...

Today was a good day, he was so very cute, as always, but it was good to see him responsive after being in such a haze yesterday and agony the day before.

Kissing him just isn't enough, I want to suck him up through a straw!

Sorry about the day before. That is so hard to be prepared for surgery and then not to have it.
He is a little fighter.
Happy Due Day... He is darling. I love to see pictures of him.

He is getting so big, it is amazing to see.

I am kind of wondering what the hospital thinks of you following everyone with a camera....are they afraid this is for legal purposes?
