You may notice his little oxygen tube is back. The 12 hour study showed that he sometimes dips a little. It's only when he is asleep and not very much, so they have the O2 barely on, called trace. It is still a dang annoying tube. After a few days without it Kristen and I can't figure out why we're both tripping all over it, it's not been that long. It's amazing how in the way one little tube can be.
They re-did the car seat test since they didn't like the first one. He was asleep this time so his number stayed just fine.
He passed the 24 hour test, in fact his last bottle on during the 24 he was very awake and ate extra.
Next we switch to "on demand" which really sounds like the same thing all over again, but now the schedule is really really supposed to be up to him, but it kind of already was so I don't really get it. If he eats extra and gets tired out we can let him sleep 5 hours now, and I think they take the gavage tube all the way out. They never used it for the 12 or 24, but could've if they needed. Now it's all up to him.
After the "on demand" we do what's called "rooming in". They give us a hotel room in the hospital and we stay in there with him, without medical staff for a night and a little extra to make sure we can handle it. We have already been pretty much doing everything ourselves, more than some parents, so it wont be that big of a difference. After all of that, they evaluate, and schedule a discharge!
We're not going home today, but we are only a few days away.

That's the best news we've heard in a long time!! Can't wait for you guys to get Greydon home. =)

Just read your last post, it will be a while before any of the CA Barnum's will be allowed visitation rights. I don't think they make a backpack mounted sanitizer delivery system with enough volume to take down our current cooties...

Maybe you two should think about nursing school. You have more down than most nursing students.
We're really excited for you guys to bring him home and enjoy him every single minute. He is getting so "grown up", if you will.

that's really exciting news! and i LOVE the pictures, they're so cute- i love how much he is starting to have personality in his features, like YOUR little baby, not like everyone else's newborn... we're very excited for you guys!
GREAT NEWS!!! How much does Greydon weigh now? He sure doesn't look like a "preemie" anymore.
We'll be watching for the "going home" on your blog!
How cool that they have you stay in a "hotel room" to make sure you're comfortable having him with no help. The things you learn . . .
