So I finally got to meet our pediatrician, Dr. Later today. We have been missing him when he has been coming to see Greydon, and we figured out this morning that he was misreading the chart and dialing our phone number incorrectly, and no it was not my handwriting that he was misreading.
He was pretty comfortable with Greydon's progress. We chatted for a minute. I am pretty picky when it comes to medical professionals. I don't go to the doctor, pretty much ever; and if I were to go I think the money that they charge should equal an enjoyable experience with a cool person..... call me crazy.
Dr. Later was a great combination of experience, impressive recall on dates and figures about items I'm guessing he wasn't planning on speaking about, bed-side manner, kicked back, sense of humor and expertise. I am so happy, I was nervous having not met 5 different doctors before choosing one.
I think Aunt Ang got to hold Greydon for the first time today, but I wasn't there to take pictures, so I have nothing to post. Sorry. Kristen said he did very well and slept serenely right on through.
Tonight was bath night. I love bath night, but it's a little stressful trying to hold the slippery dude, even without squirming I'm afraid he's going to slip out of my fingers and go for a dunk.
They put an extension on his oxygen line, which gives us a little more maneuverability, it also however leaves a bunch of tubing laying on the ground. Kristen and I both stepped on his tubes at least once each. That makes you feel like a talented parent. We disconnect him from the tube sometimes now and then, it's not like he turns blue the second he isn't having the cannula help him out.. but when you here a weird squeeking noise... yah, that's your foot pinching off the air... greeaat
He is getting rave reviews from everybody on his "skill" progression. The occupational therapist was very impressed with the numbers he has been hitting.
He has been proving that great things come in little packages... wet ones too.
Size-wise he can still wear preemie diapers, but, after peeing through his diaper all the way and soaking his clothes twice today that put him a size up in diapers, since they soak up more. It's not the first time he's worn them, but I'm guessing they wont try to go back to the preemie size again BECAUSE!!!? he broke the 5 pound mark! so he gets the big boy diapers, of course!
