Wouldn't it though

Greydon is doing well again today. They still have him on the fortifier. When we got there he had a little stuffed arm on top of him. They like the pressure and it is supposed to represent being held.... it works really well, but I don't love the idea of being represented by a dismembered fleece puppet arm...

Kristen got to hold him twice today.... maybe she is secretly dunking my tooth brush in a vat of bacteria so she can hog him all to herself... interesting.. He certainly calmed right down this evening when he got to sit with her, it went great. It actually went a little longer since the NICU was hopping tonight.

I masked myself and slathered what I could in anti-bacteria goo so I could at least feel good about sitting nearby.

I remember goofing around singing this song with Kristen just before we got married, and now, even though it is not at all what the song is originally talking about, after deleting a line or two it seems oddly appropriate yet again and it keeps playing in my head......constantly....over and over..... thanks Beach Boys

Wouldn't it be nice if you were older
Then we wouldnt have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong

You know its gonna make it that much better
When we can say goodnight and stay together

Wouldn't it be nice if we could wake up
In the morning when the day is new
And after having spent the day together
Stay together close the whole night through

Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true
Baby then there wouldnt be a single thing we couldn't do

Wouldnt it be nice

You know it seems the more we talk about it
It only makes it worse to live without it
But lets talk about it
Wouldn't it be nice

See you tomorrow buddy

That's as close to crying as I've ever been reading a blog. Thanks for reminding me how precious each moment is!!

That fleece arm is cute, kind of like a big sesame street thing! And you better keep a hidden tooth brush somewhere sekret, leave the old one out as a decoy...

That song was perfect, and the picture of you says it all. So sad! Good luck getting better and I agree about the toothbrush...you never know who you can trust.

PS- The last two weeks it has rained here almost everyday! Thanks for sharing your feelings about the rain. It has made me enjoy it a little more and wish I could send some your way.

Thanks for the post! I will never hear that song in the same way. A great reminder to enjoy the little things in life I often take for granted.

How true, how true. It would be nice, indeed.

PS The photo with the hand puppet, funny, Lil' G looks like Rudolph with the big red nose.

You'd have to be in to the 'silly songs with larry' veggie tales scene to know where my brain came up with that. OK lets hear it who likes that yodeling veterinarian of the alps??
