A Rub and a Dub

This morning

Tonight

Tonight Kristen held him for around an hour or so, I took a nice little nap next to them. It was actually quite relaxing. When I nap I usually half wake up on and off, it was nice to look over and see Kristen and Greydon, watch him in the mirror for a little bit, drift out again etc.

After being held the nurse asked if we wanted to give him a water bath, another first! She left his little blanket on him to help keep him warm, she held up his arms to not get his I.V. wet, I held his little breathing tubes out of the water and Kristen got him all nice and clean.

Preemies don't enjoy patting and stroking, it kind of overloads their senses, it comes across as being poked and tickled. So during the sponge baths he usually gets a little bugged, and then is just pooped after. But he quite enjoyed the little water bath. He squirmed just a little but never made any kind of unhappy or stressed face, let alone cry. The little blanket being there still was great, he loved it. It was so dang cute! It was a little spa moment for sure. I only got a little bit on the camera, I needed both hands, and of course was having too much fun watching. I won't post the video since there are some moments with little boy parts front and center, but here are some G rated stills.

(well maybe pg-13)

After the bath the nurse took him out of the water and wet blanket into a warm blanket I was holding, so I kind of got to hold him for a minute while I dried him off, then into another warm blanket on his bed to finish getting dried off, and then he was swaddled and so peaceful. I held his little pacifier and his head. I started making that sushing noise that you can't help but make around little babies and he closed his eyes, sucked on his pacifier and drifted off.

He is sooooo going to be spoiled beyond all hope.

We don't care if he's spoiled either; as long as he's not a brat!

You can deal with the "spoiling" issue later. There is no such thing as spoiling a baby!
