I can't put my finger on it.
I took a math test today, I knew I wasn't going to do as well as normal since my study habits have been a little altered, but I knew that going in. I haven't received my score yet, but it felt pretty good, so I don't think that is it.
Greydon is doing... ok... nothing too horrible, I didn't like hearing that they had to give him a diaretic to try and get rid of the fluid on his lungs. Hopefully tomorrow's xray will show improvement, or at least they will be able to determine a cause and go after it.
So I don't think his condition has worsened to the point of causing depression. I just think it's.... one of those days... we all have them right?
When Greydon was born, after being at the hospital almost awake for around 46 hours, it was raining when I came out to go to the car to head home long enough to take a nap and shower. It was the best summer rain. I walked real slow and let it just fall on my face... if it was raining right now I would go out and plant myself right in the middle of the yard, feet wide, face to the clouds, it's like the sky is giving you a big wet hug...it is so relaxing.
I just need to hear stories of rainbows and unicorns and lollipop dreams... I don't think I can handle the real world right now.
I'm sitting in front of the air conditioner while I write, that helps.
Kristen got to give Greydon a little sponge bath tonight... he handled it really well. He even did well when they hooked him back up to the bed. But then his heart rate went high, his oxygen levels low. I think he realized the nurse didn't make his bed afer the bath as nice as some other nurses.... but whatever it was he was just disquieted. It was stressful. We stayed for a while, we could get him to calm down a little here and there, but the sugar water on the pacifier from the nurse was the only thing that calmed him down enough long enough for us to be able to walk away.
11 more weeks of this? cooooommmme on rainbows and unicorns!

I would have called you back if I knew you were still up!! I got your message and then realized that you were at the park. I'll call you tomorrow to answer any and all of your cowboy questions!!!
Thanks for the Greydon updates. We love them
I won powerball, I am now a total millionaire. okay back to reality...I did win another waxing certificate on the radio though!
Allow yourself some time sweetie, it's okay. YOU've been through ALOT!!!! (Slight understatement) You just need a minute to refill your bucket, take it one day at a time, the rainbows and unicorns are still there and you'll see them before you know it.
best way to find your unicorn, google charlie the unicorn, it's the best! Call me mr helpfull...
If you want I can come over and squirt you with the hose and my girls can run around pretending to be unicorns. Let me know........ ;)
Hey, if you take Tiff up on her offer, invite me over. I could use a good laugh!! You guys are in our prayers.
Calvin,
We hope you know we are praying for you every day. We fasted for your family on Sunday. We love you and your family. You have been through a lot. Take an extra nap. That always helps me feel refreshed. Is there anything we can do for you? I have the whole week off before I go back to school. Really, I'd love to help you both with anything this week. Please let me know...
Michelle
Hey, it's muzz and aunt shannon; we think you should take tiffany up on her offer; and if you really want a giggle, I'll be a unicorn!!
Shannon says she's in charge of the hose.....always was bossy!!
Shan's going to be for a bit this week ... Nash fam. Mac Island thingy; anyway, we need to know what size to make the linens for Greydons' bed; Aunt Shannon wants to buy material and I have a serger..Yahoo! Let us know right away. As far as rainbows are concerned; just pour oil on the sidewalk and wet it....
shan says use the hose not yourself!!
Keep us up on all results of course and tell Greydon we love him. Love, Muzz
Ok, I'll tell you the measurements if you can promise me no unicorns or rainbows... We want "cool" more than cute, he needs to feel all manly in his preemie bed so he gets strong.
45 x 36 should work. Don't worry about fancy edges, they get rolled or tucked under. I wouldn't worry about making things double sided, again you'll only see one side ever. Also don't go very expensive on the fabric; we've been warned that there is a large chance that they will get stained and lost. Things need to come in sets of two, one he lays on and one gets rolled around the tube they bend into a barrier. They don't have to be the same fabric, just coordinating. We've been told not to go with anything too stimulating, black and white stripes or checks are too much information for him right now.
Sheeesh, sorry to be so demanding, nothing like looking a gift horse in the mouth... or calling your sister a horse for that matter....
I'm excited, thanks!
You know what Cal? I been doing this family thing a long time (grew up with 12 siblings and working on current marraige of 15 years...) and I just have to say, rainbows and unicorns are HIGHLY over rated. It doesn't all make sense now, but it will. Hang in there, you guys are great.
In the meantime you can watch "Planet Unicorn" on You Tube for a very irreverent unicorn fix. Don't tell anyone I told you to watch it, though!
