Ok, first of all I'm not sure about how I feel about removing my last post. No one complained, but I was reluctant to give someone the blog address today when it came up in conversation... so I figured if I was uncomfortable with it it shouldn't stay, yep I'm just old, in UT too long, or just a wimp....
Today Kristen and I had a very nice evening over at her aunt and uncle's home. Kristen's aunt agreed to help me get ready for the terrifying solo coming up in church.... again, I only act confident.... it's all a charade... I've never done this before! Anyway.... the aunt is incredibly talented, has a few CD's out, composer, lyricist, pianist, just all around amazing, and like so many talented people she is so humble. Ok, I think she is a little too humble, she doesn't like to be in the spotlight at all. She likes accompanying because the spotlight is on whoever is doing the singing, when in reality she deserves to just walk around with a spot light on her everywhere she goes. Her kids are great, which is just the icing on the cake. I only give you that much background, because today after we ran through the hymn I'm singing a few times, she agreed to play and sing a song she just finished. I was so honored and flabbergasted, I tried to act all cool though so not to add to the pressure, since I knew she didn't like the idea. The song was so honest and relatable, and just beautifully written and the music felt very real... sometimes the Christian music industry gets a little sappy, but this song didn't rely on just a nice message, it was musically exciting with many layers, it was lovely. She doesn't think it is going to go out on an album anytime soon, which is so sad... I loved sitting there. The evening also consisted of some nice chatting with her and her family, I'm sorry to use such an overused expression, but there was a nice spirt about the home. I actually don't mean I had a spiritual experience, never had a tear in my eye or felt the need to use the words "every fiber of by being" even once. I just mean that it felt real. I find it interesting that "real" feels like a rare treat.
If you get a chance, look for another of her songs that is my all time favorite, "Keeping Sheep".
If you have a family, especially if you have kids, or apparently if you are currently expecting, you will get a little misty...... even if you are sometimes accused of being "dead inside" (sorry Kristen)
And if you know this incredibly talented person I'm talking about DON'T MENTION THIS POST, I WILL BE IN SOOO MUCH TROUBLE!

You always had great taste in picking music that was real, and I admire that quality. I am so glad to see you guys on here and can't wait for the next few months to fly by for you (well, then you get no slepp, so stay in bed as much as possible now!). I miss seeing you in these here parts!
you never did say the why behind removing the last post..?
The last post was basically just a pic of a funny onesie, the saying on it said "If you touch me my mom will beat your (expletive). It was funny for shock value..
It was awesome. If I am thinking of the right Aunt I had a huge crush on her husband when I was 13 or 14.
I loved that onesie! I'm going to look for a onesie with thepiratebay.org emblem on it =) The littlest pirate!
Oh and my silence on the music thing CAN be purchased...
I'm so going to tell on you....
Just kidding. I agree. We have such wonderful family to be related to.
