"10" minutes

I got to hold Greydon again tonight... his little head gear that holds his tubes in place was a little skewumpas so I asked the respitory therapist Lynne if she could fix it, since it was starting to cover and bug one of his eyes. She is great, she's who first had him handed to her by the doctors during delivery and took care of him for the first night, we're big Lynne fans... any way; while she was working on his head thingy we mentioned that this was the most we had seen of his face, and she "accidentally" let his c-pap fall off for a minute... WOOHOO, now, he looks a little like an old man in the pictures, he was pulling some weird faces because he wasn't exactly enjoying himself, his nose also has some tape pushing it funny and it might be a little swollen, or he just has his Uncle Guy's nose (bwah-hah! ;)

Lynne felt bad that fixing his head gear took away from my holding time, so she told the nurse to let us have an extra ten minutes.

While we are holding Greydon, his stats get just as closely monitored as when we're not, that way if he is getting anxious we can put him back in the bed. He did great tonight, looked at us again for a little while then went right back to sleep. During our "extra 10 minutes" Bonnie, our nurse for the night, had another baby come in and had to get him all situated and IV's started... I got to hold my son for like an hour and a half, it was so great! I felt bad that I got such a lucky break and told Kristen as much, we can't just hand him back and forth, there are just tons of wires and tubes that can't get moved much... she said sometimes it's nice to be the one watching too (she was so sweet)... It's true, when she held him, especially the second time, it was fun to just watch, you see different angles.. I still feel very blessed to have held him for so long tonight. I kept wanting to bend down to eat his little face, but I'm not that flexible... but as I was starting to hand him back to the nurse I took a sec and kissed his little cheek and hand, and his foot before they closed up the bed..... he's just so adorable...
Here are some pics.

Riding Side Saddle, he was happy as a clam during our marathon holding session, but getting hooked back up is not so fun
