There was one concern at the last Dr.'s appointment about Kristen's health. She has been having arms that tingle and go numb sometimes, well now it is happening more frequently and hurting, sometimes she can't make a fist. We have been keeping el dottore informed about everything. He tends to have a pretty much "everything is normal" kind of reaction to anything we ask about. When Kristen said she was getting cramps, he wasn't concerned as long as they went away when she laid down, and that she laid down when she got the cramps... So we were a little surprised and stressed out that his answer to the arm issue was to send us to a neurosurgeon to consult about the possibility of needing surgery or not.
The gist I got is that this is likely a preexisting condition, a poor exit opportunity for fluids from her arms that has always been there. The fact that there is so much more fluid right now is why it is so noticeable. The numb and tingling is normal, but this early in the game, and to such an extent where she is "losing strength" those points are what have him concerned enough to look for outside council.
Kristen, not so excited about even considering surgery while pregnant. I pointed out that having arms is often considered... convenient.
Obviously everything will be weighed and discussed and no unnecessary risks taken with the baby.
Right now we are still in the information gathering stage. The Neuro-doctor dude's appointment isn't for another 2 weeks, so we'll post more when we know more. Our doctor was fine with waiting up to a month to get into the neurosurgeon, so 2 weeks is just fine.

I had my arm go numb and get tingley and then started to lose my vision in my one eye. I called the Doc and she told me to lay down for awhile or if I wanted to, to go to the E.R. Nice..... give me the two ends of the spectrum thanks Doc. Anyways I ended up just leaving church and resting for awhile. I hope all is well or at least tolerable for Kristen for the next little while. We will definitely keep her, the baby, and you in our prayers.
